Dermal Fillers

Picture

Dermal fillers adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth lines, or plump the lips. We use a new generation of filler. It is a soft gel that feels natural and smooth. The results are subtle and long-lasting.

Usually, it takes 1-1.5 hour to complete the procedure which includes a detailed consultation, finding the right product and making sure you feel safe and enjoyable with everything.
We also could use a local anaesthetic to keep you comfortable with less bruising.

FAQ

How quickly will I see the result
Dermal fillers produce instant results.
How long does the result last
The effects of dermal filler can last anywhere between 9 and 18 months, depending on what product has been used and to which area of the face.
Is there any downtime
The average treatment session lasts around 1 hour and you can return to your day-to-day activities the next day.
Do dermal fillers hurt
Dermal Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. It does depend on your tolerance and on the treatment area. Lips are generally the most sensitive area, so I will apply a numbing cream to to the area prior to injecting.
Any side effects
Each unique cosmetic injectable treatment has its own possible risks and side effects, which will be discussed in detail with you at your appointment.
Generally speaking, the majority of cosmetic injections can cause mild swelling, mild pain discomfort, bruising and tenderness, but can easily be treated with measures such as a cool compress and light pain relief. The majority of patients return to work immediately following treatments.
There are circumstances where more serious side effects can occur. We will discuss your cosmetic and medical history and explain all of the potential risks before beginning your treatment. We are always contactable if you have any concerns with your treatment.
Do I need to do anything beforehand
Very little preparation is required on the part of the patient. In order to reduce the risk of bruising, the use of blood thinning agents such as anti-inflammatory medications and fish oils can be ceased in the week leading up to your treatment, however we advise you to consult with your GP before ceasing any medications. Avoid any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising.
If you have a managed illness, I advise you also discuss the use of injectables with your doctor/specialist. If for any reason we need to delay or not proceed with your treatment, you will not be charged for the consultation.
Who cannot have the treatment
Cosmetic injectable treatments are unsuitable for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive. Some treatments may also be unsuitable for certain skin types and people suffering from certain medical conditions. It is important to be honest when discussing your medical history, so we can best determine your suitability and ensure your safety for treatment.
